Curriculum: Year 4
During the summer term, Year 4 have been busy learning about habitats in a variety of subjects. The children made shoe box habitats in Art and showcased them to Year 1 and 2 who then could vote on which shoe box they liked best. In Science, they have been busy learning about a variety of habitats and what effect humans have on them. Year 4 particularly enjoyed the 2 Forest School lessons we have done on the topic. During our first lesson, the children went out and explored what type of animals live on and around the playground. They found a rabbit hole, a bughouse and a roost. The second lesson, the children explored the plants in the habitat around the school and made a skeleton using natural materials only. They really enjoyed all the lessons on their habitat topic.
Year 4 have also been busy practising our reading and really enjoyed performing plays where we could take on the role of different characters. We have been working hard on our times tables all the way up to 12 x 12 for the online multiplication check. We learn our times tables in a variety of ways including through online games at school and at home.
